About me
I was born in 1977. Queen, Abba and the Clash blared from radios
all over the country. Flares and hotpants were the thing to be seen
in. Trimphones were released upon the nation. Star Wars and
Saturday Night Fever hit the big screen and the Queen had her
Silver Jubilee. It was a time for optimism. Citizen Smith led the
popular front and, at the forefront of the revolution, two young
parents gave birth to their future. Me. I never had an easy
upbringing, nor a particularly challenging one. Both of my parents
worked because they had to and strove to do what they could for my
sisters, brother and I. We had a humble upbringing, surrounded with
support and affection from a large extended family that from an
early age taught me that I could achieve anything with support and
encouragement.
My life has been full of memorable experiences. Some truly amazing,
others heartbreaking. I have been challenged with illness, failure,
bereavement and near-bankruptcy. At the same time I have been
blessed with love, companionship and two fantastic children. My
experiences, both good and bad, have led me to where I am today and
the realisation that we can all accomplish great things if we have
faith in our ability to overcome the odds and embrace everything
that life throws at us. It is this realisation that has prompted me
to pursue the study of personal development, NLP, hypnotherapy and
motivational coaching as a means to encourage others to overcome
their own challenges and achieve great things.
How I reach my goals
It used to feel that life happened to me. That I was constantly
pushed from pillar to post and that I was a victim of circumstance.
The decision to change one’s life may come after a particular
health issue or the loss of something precious. That’s how it was
for me. At a time when I was emotionally low, through bereavement
and ill health, I managed to pick myself up and work hard to
accomplish great things. I was determined that I would develop
myself, providing opportunities that would otherwise never be
available to me. Working as a carer by night and studying to become
a midwife by day, I set myself goals and worked towards
ever-increasing targets. As time went on, small goals became larger
ones. I learned development techniques from books, lectures and
courses in Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy and NLP, continually
applying what I had learned to find the right formula for me. I
changed my path in life several times as a result, reinvented
myself and undertook a journey to share what I have learned with
others. I believe we all have this potential within us to succeed.
You may not know it, but with a little help and encouragement, you
too can achieve great things.
